About this opportunity:
Standards & Technology (S&T) within Ericsson’s RCE unit drives foresight for the full BNEW portfolio across three sites (Kista, Lund, Paris). You will lead the Radio Near Concepts and Spectrum Standardization group, shape standardization strategy, and transform concepts into market-ready solutions. The role combines program ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership of a high-impact team to keep Ericsson at the forefront of radio access networks.
A strong emphasis is placed on people leadership and developing individuals and teams to sustain high performance and strategic growth.
What you will do:
* Lead a growing unit of ~10 senior professionals, guiding concept development and standardization for UE/BS performance, near-radio antenna architecture, L1 processing, and spectrum regulation for MBB and new use cases (eLSA, Full Duplex).
* Own programs/projects within the standardization scope, coordinating with S&T, Ericsson Research, BNEW Engineering, and other units; drive alignment with strategic goals and roadmaps.
* Contribute to Standardization Leadership Team activities, shaping technical and strategic actions across standardization bodies and topics.
* Foster innovation, secure IP rights, and lead continuous improvement; build capability and culture aligned with Ericsson values.
* Develop talent and leadership capacity: implement coaching, mentoring, and formal development plans; create a robust succession pipeline, and nurture a diverse, inclusive, high-performing team.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery of new technologies into the portfolio while prioritizing people development, performance management, and growth opportunities.
* Ensure effective governance, communication, and execution across global, multi-stakeholder environments.
The skills you bring:
* Proven leadership of complex, global organizations; experience guiding senior technical leaders.
* Deep expertise in physical layer RAN concepts, UE/BS performance, link/system-level simulations, coexistence, and spectrum standardization.
* Recognized track record in RAN standardization and active engagement with standardization bodies.
* Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and empower teams; strong focus on mentorship, performance feedback, and building leadership capabilities at all levels.
* Excellent communication, empathy, mentorship, and ability to foster a learning culture.
* Broad experience across R&D, product management, and research; PhD/MSc or equivalent.
* Strategic thinker with accountability, inclusive leadership, and ability to drive change across Ericsson.
* Data-driven decision-making, customer-first mindset, and capacity to grow tomorrow’s leaders.
